In this summer residence near the port of Sifnos, we were invited to reinterpret an existing 1960s-era shell and introduce a new perception of what contemporary vacation living can be in the Cyclades.

The design strategy focused on spatial unification and clarity. By merging the two existing levels into a single, coherent living experience, we restructured the layout to place the bedrooms below the main living area, allowing daily life to unfold around light, views, and openness. This intervention improved both functionality and the overall sense of calm that defines a summer home.

A soft, restrained color palette was introduced through furniture selections and flooring materials, reinforcing a relaxed atmosphere that complements the island setting without competing with it. The result is a residence that balances the authenticity of its original structure with a contemporary architectural approach—quiet, intentional, and perfectly suited to island living.

This project reflects our approach to summer house renovation in Sifnos, where respect for the existing building meets modern comfort, spatial efficiency, and timeless design principles.
